Presidential words

Didn't you just love that? At George Bush's last press conference as US President, he told journalists that they had sometimes misunderestimated him.

I have more in common with him that I realised. I often feel misunderestimated too. People have been misundertaken about some of my best misundertakings.

  1. This is wonderful. If Will Shakespear got to introduce hundreds of new words to the English language, why shouldn't an out-going President get to add a word or two too.

Thank you for sharing this, it has me smiling.

And the Word Verification is "facro"!

  3. My word verification is GRAFI - which I think President Bush believes is a lead member of Al Queada!

  4. Bush actually got a huge amount of press by saying "misunderstimated" before. I can't remember when, but it was a while ago. What isn't clear from this press conference is whether he was being facetious or not. Is Bush capable of being ironic? Or did he just never get the first mistake?

  5. I was wondering the other day whether my fondness for the (comparatively) sparkling oratory of Obama, was anything to do with the turgid and, let's face it,fist-gnawingly dreadful spoutings of Bush.I'm counting the days...

I loved your son's account of the move from Scotland to America. Story telling clearly runs in the blood.

    Mya x

    Word verification is 'bolly'.Absolutely fabulous.

  6. I think he does it on purpose.
I mean look at all the press he gets!
Seriously, no one can really be that dumb. Can they?

Hey there, visiting for the first time which is bizarre because I see you commenting all over the place and have no idea why I've not stopped by before.
Anyway, I have now, so hello!

  7. Whoever will we laugh at when numbnuts leaves office? They'll have to hire three people full time just to say dumbass things.

  8. LOL! There are few things I'll miss about Bush, well none at all actually! But his turn of phrase has had me in giggles over the years.

Thanks for leaving such a lovely comment on my blog, and I look forward to reading more of yours. We're thinking of leaving the UK and moving to Canada. It's interesting to read the experiences of someone who's already made the leap of moving abroad with kids.

    Cheers
    Liz

  9. I heard that. Do you think he did it on purpose, or is he not clever enough to make such a joke?

Thank you for popping in to mine and for your advice on my defiant daughter. I love the humour idea; guess I have to develop more of a sense of humour about it myself!

  10. Will be a shame not to have his bumbling linguistic errors to laugh at after Tuesday. That will be about the only shame, of course.

Thanks for stopping by mine. I see you all over the place but somehow had never made it here. Will definitely keep reading. Having been a Brit abroad twice, I love reading about others' adventures overseas.
